Title: Gaia Explorer
Gender: Female
Age: 26
About Me:
I strive to do this in my home life as well as my work in the world as a conscious investor, financier, philanthropist and activist.
- Zaadz- I was a lead investor at Zaadz, and contributed to incubating and growing the business until it blossomed into what has become Gaia.
- FLOW - I serve on the Founder's Circle. FLOW is a transpartisan movement, founded by innovative educator Michael Strong and John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods, dedicated to “liberating the entrepreneurial spirit for good” - promoting entrepreneurial initiative and focusing it on the goals of sustainable peace, prosperity, and happiness for all, in the next 50 years.
This is my classroom and community where I go to learn from the Greats. I have joined their founder's circle and enjoy brainstorming about market solutions to climate control and plotting the future of conscious capitalism and peace through commerce as well as economically empowering women worldwide.
- Global Green- I serve on the L.A. Commitee and love spreading the word about all the great work they are doing.
Mission
Global Green USA is a national environmental organization addressing three of the greatest challenges facing humanity:
- Stemming global climate change by creating green buildings and cities.
- Eliminating weapons of mass destruction that threaten lives and the environment.
- Providing clean, safe drinking water for the 2.4 billion people who lack access to clean water.
Vision
President Gorbachev founded the organization in order to create a new approach to solving the world's most pressing environmental challenges by reconnecting humanity to the environment.
Results
Global Green's unique approach merges innovative research, cutting-edge community based projects and targeted advocacy that:
- Educates hundreds of millions of people annually
- Leverages billions of dollars for environmental initiatives
- Implements ground-breaking environmental policy
Awards
Global Green USA hosts two award ceremonies every year recognizing environmental vision and leadership in business, government, media and other fields. The Millennium Awards in Los Angeles and the Designing a Sustainable and Secure World Awards in New York shine the light on some of todayÂfs visionary leaders.
- BeGreenNow-Is the latest offering from Green Mountain Energy, a company my family and I have been invested in. My role here is to spread the word about the importance of Carbon-Offsetting and the future of Wind Power.
Picture this: you eat a whole cream-filled, glazed doughnut and then spend a whole hour jogging to burn it off. Carbon offsets are something like that. They offer a way for you to “take away” the emissions you put out there.
How does that make any sense? Think about it: we all live on one single earth with one single atmosphere. So, if you’re responsible for preventing emissions in one corner of the world, it can balance out the emissions you expel in another corner of the world. When you do that in a calculated way, we call it being “carbon neutral.”
I am currently engaged as a consultant/project coordinator for a phenomenal development in Pecos New Mexico. This ranch lies on 6,000 acres, with 6 miles of river flowing through it.
We are developing this land into a Residential Eco-Spa Resort and Retreat, completely self-sustained by the sun and wind, and nourished with organic gardens. The possibities for this land are epic, and I am inspired by the opportunity to create a world class healing space that is integrated into nature, utilizes the most progressive green building technologies, while remaining a simple understatement of natural native beauty.
- Children's Health Foundation is where I previously served on the board. It is a fabulous organization where we are incubating Nutrition programs that take the junky a-la-carte items out of schools and implement healthier choices, a Safe-School-Ambassador program that focuses on empowering the kids with conflict resolution and peer-counseling skils to prevent bullying and violence. We also offer yoga in schools and alternative learning opportunities for teachers. Our programs have been extremely successful and we will be expanding them throughout Colorado and then Nationally.
- Aspen Center for Integral Health- A non-profit national organization based in Aspen, Colorado, the Aspen Center for Integral Health is a center for the gathering and dissemination of emerging ideas on health and for the promotion of human flourishing. Our mission is to educate the public, patients, doctors and other health care professionals on validated health therapies and prevention programs, and on the effects of human behavior on personal health and the environment. ACIH's primary goal is to facilitate the creation of a more sustainable, comprehensive and compassionate health care model by addressing the four integral dimensions of health–the physical, pyschospiritual, interpersonal and societal–which together affect the health of the whole person. They use a four quadrant model that comes from a framework developed by Ken Wilber, that is changing the way people see the world. This framework is being applied in every discipline from Politics to Parenting. To learn more about it check out…
- Integral Institute- I am an official I-I Ambassador. So what that means to me, is that I strive to have an Integral Perspective wherever I contribute my guidance and influence in the world, and direct people who might be interested to I-I for guidance or to team up with others who are doing Integral work in the world.
- As a mother, I strive to raise my daughter to question everything, believe in possibility and to be compassionately aware of her Self and others and her impact on others and the world.
- As a homemaker, I am always thinking up novel ways of reducing our impact and reusing just about everything. I am designing a rockin' Eco Home where I plan to demonstrate fabulous design that works in harmony with our beautiful ecosystem, that is a community gathering place, and location of chocolate and treehouse parties…
- I will be building a yoga studio where I practice yoga daily after trail running. I am an “almost” certified Yoga Teacher and an “almost” certified Permaculturist, and an “almost” certified river rafting guide. (what can I say? I get distracted :)
Someday I will evolve to the place where my bio simply states:
